In our family, we have a family tradition to take our mother to a different high tea every Mother’s Day. We have become quite the high tea experts over the years of doing this, so we have created a list of our favourite spots and whats available for Mother’s Day high tea in Sydney in 2022.
1. Avalon Restaurant, Katoomba
You will enjoy mountain views with your high tea at Avalon Restaurant in Katoomba. You will also get to enjoy a glass of bubbles, followed by a tasty selection of house-made savouries and sweet treats, plus fluffy lemonade scones topped with jam and cream plus there will be live music by Simon Watts on violin. Price: $75 per person
Tresillian’s is hosting a fundraising Mother’s Day Tea Party at Doltone House, Hyde Park. All guests will get a gift on arrival, a silent auction and raffles will also be available on the day. On the menu you will find sweet and savoury options, scones and unlimited sparkling wine. Price: $110 person
3. The Alice Cocktail Experience, Potts Point
This 90-minute experience includes actors that take you on a journey of clues, cupcakes and curiosities! You’ll get to brew tea, solve riddles and enjoy some great entertainment. This is perfect for any theatre loving mothers out there! Price: $30 per person
4. Sir Stanford, Sydney
The Mother’s Day high tea at Sir Stanford stands out this year because of its Elderflower and Raspberry Mocktail Shot. Also on the menu you will find scones, sweet and savory options plus a glass of sparkling wine. You can also use your dine and discover vouchers for this event! Price: $94 per person

Are you looking for a Mother’s Day high tea location in 2021? Well you’ve come to the right place.
We’ve found in previous years, We’ve needed to organise and book our Mother’s Day well in advance otherwise we end up getting a bad table or miss out completely. So, to help you out, we have created a list of our top high tea spots for Mother’s Day.
Sir Stamford at Circular Quay
If you’re wanting to stay central to the Sydney CBD, Stir Stamford at Circular Quay is the place to be. They have already put their Mother’s Day 2021 high tea event online, so you can book in and get the best seats sorted now.
Sunday 9 May 2021 11.00 am – 2.00 pm or 12.00 noon – 3.00 pm $89 per person $55 per child (5 – 12 years)
What will you find on the menu? Traditional scones with jam and cream, sandwiches, sweet and savoury items. You can check out the whole menu on their website, but we think we would look most forward to the ‘Chicken Avocado Lemon & Tarragon on Brioche’ and the ‘Assorted French Macarons’.
Hydro Majestic, Medlow Bath
You can’t beat the views at the Hydro Majestic as you look over the Megalong Valley. This place has so much history and is a beautiful location to spend Mother’s Day enjoying your high tea with mum.
Sunday May 9 2021 Their website currently doesn’t have any information available for Mother’s Day, other than it’s coming soon. When we have gone in previous years, for Mother’s day, they usually only have the Luxurious High Tea that’s $89 per person.
Their Wintergarden offers a premium afternoon high tea with a flute of French Champagne. Hopefully by the time you read this, they will have uploaded some more information on their website for Mother’s Day.
If the beach is more your style then the Crowne Plaza at Terrigal Beach would be your best bet. You can enjoy a high tea with your mum and take in the beautiful ocean views. Their Mother’s Day high tea is online already as well, and you are able to book in now.
Sunday 9 May 2021 1.00pm – 3.00pm $72.00 per adult $35.00 per child (3- 12 years)
Your high tea will be served on a traditional tower and come with a range of delicacies and delights. The price also includes beverages including sparkling wine, wine, beer, soft drinks, tea and coffee. You can find their full menu on their website, but we would be most looking forward to the ‘Chicken and Leek Pie’ or the ‘Pecan and Palm Treacle Cheesecake’.
Tocal Homestead, Paterson
Are you thinking a road trip may be more what you are after, Tocal Homestead is about 2 hours from Sydney, near Newcastle. This venue is stunning and won’t disappoint, especially if you love nature.

The high-tea is being organise by then on-site caterers and will be a decadent and substantial high tea to create a memorable occasion. Their service includes an array of savoury morsels, sweet treats and fresh scones, your choice of tea and also bar service, which is available on request.
The Langham, Millers Point
For a classy English experience, you can’t go past The Langham in Millers Point. They have an afternoon tea with Wedgewood experience. It is known as the birthplace of the traditional afternoon tea – from their London flagship location.
Sunday May 9 2021 They haven’t put their Mother’s Day event up yet, but usually their pricing is: $98 with a glass of Sparkling $113 with a glass of Champagne $49 for under 12
This would be one of our favourite high tea experiences. The staff here are lovely and they have a tea we have not been able to find anywhere else, the Irish Whisky. Hopefully they also upload some more information to their website shortly – so keep your eye out for that.

Mother’s Day 2020, looks like it is going to be spent at home. I’m sure a lot of your plans have been cancelled, just like ours – to take mum out to have high tea. So, if you’re not a chef, here are our top picks of Mother’s Day hampers in Sydney.
1. Glenorie Bakery, Glenorie
Our first takeaway Mother’s Day option can be done through Glenorie Bakery. They are doing a high tea box that includes all your favourites! The family high tea is $85 (4-5 people) and the couples high tea is $50 (2 people). So what can you find inside? savoury pastries, desserts, local flowers, a succulent plant, mini champagne and T2 teabags. What more could you ask for then to also have the decorations included! They are delivering through most of the Hills District and into Blacktown.

2. Chiswick, Woollahra
The iconic Chiswick in Woollahra is also putting on a Mother’s Day feast for your family! If it’s created by Matt Moran’s team, nothing can go wrong right? They are doing both lunch and dinner packages that you can pick up from the restaurant. The packages range from $169-$199 for the family and you can pick from chicken or lamb. They packages include your entrees, mains and desserts so everyone should be full by the end!

3. The Paper Mill, Liverpool
Why not treat your mum to a breakfast box from The Paper Mill? For just $65, your mum will be delighed with the following items; mini danish, mini croissants, carrot cake, waffles, seasonal fruit including raspberries, blueberries, & strawberries, Nutella, blueberry compote, granola, T2 teabags and a Brown Brothers Pink Moscato. (They won me with the Brown Brothers Moscato) haha! You can pick them up in store on Saturday and Sunday as well.
