Review: Saddles, Mount White

Finding it hard to get a booking at Saddles Mount White? Our review tells you why it is so popular!

We came across Saddles at Mount White a while ago but always found it was completely booked up! We finally got an 8am booking a few weeks ago and now we understand why it is so popular. Keep reading to see our full review!

1. The food

The most important topic is the food and we have one word to sum it up… amazing! There isn’t a huge amount to pick from but the items on the menu all sound and/or taste divine. For breakfast we dined on the Cured Ocean Trout, Saddle’s Beef Pie and the Sizzle Steak. All the meals came out in a reasonable time, were fresh and were full of flavour. The service was also very nice and accommodating.

We couldn’t stop there, so we shared some sweets to finish off the morning. This included the Lamington, Cinnamon Brioche and the Almond Citrus Cake. All were the perfect amount of sweetness, fresh and complimented our main meals.

2. The atmosphere

Another big aspect riding for Saddles, Mount White is the atmosphere. It is positioned away from everything else and situated on a small dam. It is quiet, peaceful and you can bring your dogs along as well. The decor and interiors are beautiful and you feel like you are situated in a rustic barn with old school charm.

We would highly recommend Saddles, Mount White to anyone wanting a peaceful breakfast, brunch or lunch away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney. It is only about an hour away with mostly highway driving so it is still within easy reach. Of course, book well in advance so that you can get a decent time slot!

Let us know if you decide to go to Saddles, Mount White and what you decided to order!

Why does Starbucks always get your name wrong?

We’ve got the answer as to why your name is always wrong on your Starbucks order.

We’ve all been to Starbucks at least a few times throughout our lives and the number one thing we seem to hear about, is your name on the cup. It always seems to be either spelt wrong or a completely different name altogether. Is the person taking our order not hearing us correctly or is this happening on purpose?

I personally have been a victim of Starbucks – my name is Lauren and I have had my name put down as Gloria. Being young, I don’t think I look like a Gloria and my name does not sound anything like it.

We’ve done a bit of thinking and done some research online and there is actually a conspiracy theory behind it all! What does any business want? Free marketing/exposure right? Most people, when they have a funny or wrong name written on their order will post it on social media for all their following to see. Boom – you’ve just given them free advertising! Now that is an interesting conspiracy theory and really does get you thinking… can they really be getting it wrong so often?

We would love to hear if you have been personally victimised by Starbucks and either had your name spelt completely wrong or got a whole new name altogether? And secondly, what are your thoughts on this conspiracy theory?

Also, talking about coffee, how adorable are these reusable coffee cups? We’re adding one to our wish-list to not only save the planet but also to have a cute coffee cup always on hand.
